I've got a Planet-X London Road, from 2017 (I think) - the one with post-mount brakes.
Can anyone recommend some good mudguards please - solid ones for commuting, I'm not too bothered about weight or being able to remove them easily. The fork bosses are quite high up, which I think makes fitting some quite difficult? And I'd also like to maximise tyre clearance.
Thanks.
On a Tempest not a London Road, but I like SKS Bluemels.
Various widths, couple of colours and differing lengths but all pretty robust.
I bored a couple of holes in mine to line up with the frame bosses under the seat stay and chain stay bridges which gave a really solid rear mount.
Go as wide as you dare
Thanks IGM, I'll look into them!
They sold specific ones for that bike, might be some knocking around still.
I have Bluemels on mine. I remember the front one being a bit of a sod to fit because the bosses are half way up the fork leg; I bent the topmost legs half way down so the guard was in the right place and it has worked fine for years. The front one gets clonked by my feet fairly often when I forget about the overlap but it's been perfectly solid.
I used crud road racer MK3.
Thanks everyone. Yeah I heard about the planet-x ones, I don't see any for sale any more.
