I'm about to pull the trigger on a pro carbon but I've heard a few story's about these wheels being a pain getting tyres on and off ? Anyone got any experiences ? I can have it built with their A57's if I liked ?
Cheers,

Mike.

I found them to be really nice wheels for the money, I don't weigh much though so not going to get flexy on me.

Tyres were not the easiest but I got a pair of park tools levers and they sorted it.

Wheels rolled well for me and stayed true, but getting the tyres off was a major pain. I think it may be the lack of central channel to give the bead some slack.

I was scared that I might be stuck some where remote with cold hands and unable to change the tube, so changed them for ultegra wheels.

I was using conti tyres. Maybe changing to a slacker bead might sort it.

I have these nice wheels roll well ,but fitting tyres is tricky ,
Found it very easy after getting the tyre to bead as much as I could then securing tyre with cable tie
At each end of tyre and then popping on with lever ,cut ties off and inflate . Before I found this method I was going to
Return to Planet X as unfit for purpose as I could not get tyre on.

as with all difficult tyre/rim combos, remove the rim strips and replace with one wrap of insulating tape.
this will give you a slightly deeper central well for the bead to sit in allowing you to remove tyres slightly easier.
also, when you do remove them make sure to let as much air out of your tubes as you can.
fit new tubes/tyres with the tube uninflated.

I'm assuming decent tyre fitting/removing technique in the first place here.

Fsa have revised the wheels now.older ones had the brake wear indicator all the way around the rim and the revised version have just a wear dot indicator...all the new bikes i have seen have been fitted with newer wheels
