Snapped mech hanger on Dirty Disco beginning of July,They are selling sab ones that their site says fit,buy two, ride other bikes, finally get round to sorting it today...Obviously they don't fit...Check online and lo and behold the description of them "also fitting the Dirty Disco" has been taken down. What a crowd...

you picked the wrong one.
*pulls up chair, lights kettle*
Did the photo loom like the one on the left or one on the right?
And have you contacted them?
Because the one on the left looms ominously.
Mikey,they didn't offer a choice,that mech fitted. Even with two screwholes,it isn't a match.
The add that has had its description changed.

While you wait for one shoddy direct sales outfit to get back to you, may I present: These guys.
That actually looks promising, Px do have one,£20!

There's photos of two different mechs in that ad!
And from the drop down box you can select either a one or two holed dropout.
I had this exact same thing happen with the one for a London Road, ordered the one listed for the bike, sent me something similar but not right, ended up sending it back for a refund and getting a new one from Superstar Components!
JS,you couldn't at the time,I bought it while at work on the also fits the DD line, feeling smug I hadn't been stung for the £20 cnc number.
Given the capital letters in fail, I guess they have done something really really bad, let's read the pos . . . . Oh. Nevermind.
If it's any help, the replacement sold by http://derailleurhangerstore.co.uk is a significant upgrade on the original On One mech hanger, the one described as 'Gear Mech Derailleur Hanger Dropout 148 for Bianchi, Blue, On One' erm this one.
It's expensive for sure, but CNC-ed by Wheels Manufacturing and a lot sturdier and better made. I found I needed to use the original fixing screws rather than the ones supplied, but it's a better fit and reassuringly solid feeling.
So you got sent the wrong part, they've realised that the description was wrong and have since changed it, and your problem is..?
People make mistakes, things go wrong, especially when you're dealing with thousands of orders and components each week. Hardly the end of the world, especially as it's taken you a month to notice 🙄

Surely having a sturdier mech hanger is an engineering oxymoron, personally I'd prefer to have a hanger which is marginally stronger than it needs to be to allow accurate shifting then break if impacted which saves the £700 frame from snapping. I'd also be inclined to buy one before it broke and carry it as a spare, thus ensuring i never needed it.

The standard mech hanger is a bit rubbish, the threads in the attachment bolt holes strip really easily. I don't think most engineers know what an oxymoron is btw, but all I was saying is that the CNCed one is better made, and fits more securely, but I have no reason to think that it wouldn't fail before the frame. It's still alloy rather than some sort of reinforced steel truss...

There's degrees here, some mech hangers are too easily broken (like, sadly, the current Hemlock ones, thin and made of monkey metal). A hanger can be stronger than some OE without endangering the frame (whereas a weak hanger endangers the wheel and mech o'course and if it jams up badly enough, maybe the rider)
How would a strong hanger break a frame?
As above, WMD are much better than the cheap cast ones, they'll still break before the mech.

How does that work then?
Sod's law dictates that if you don't have a spare it'll break but if you do payout for a spare you'll likely never need it....Sod's law innit!?
m360,do you work for px? Not the first time they have screwed up and kept quiet, my experience is small beer compared to the folk who got the batch of London road frames that had seat tubes way off. God knows how many on here alone. But hey ho, they sell thousands of items eh?
So a production run of a frame is enough to say that they are a terrible company? Sound logic. No other companies have ever made anything that needed recalling or was just plain crappy have they.
Someone is Mr Grumpypants.Yes your experience is small beer.Tiny miniscule insignificant beer.....really weak diet alcohol free shandy.....in a thimble.
How would a strong hanger break a frame?
By not breaking and transferring the force to the chainstay or seatstay or dropout which would mean a new frame rather than a cheap hanger. The way I usually explain the need for a mech hanger is like a fuse in an electrical circuit.
Re the carrying of a spare, it's the sods law rule.
@Moneytrain- PX/On One do it more than most, and response badly when they do (making a faulty frame is understandable; refusing to refund customers and lying to them is shit however you slice it, and I think also they ignored their distance selling regs obligations
In this case it does just sound like a website screwup though, which is clumsy but easy enough. As long as they resolve it cleanly it's nothing to get too worked up about, just an irritation. But the thing is, goodwill's hard to come by, they used to have it by the bucket but they burned it and so now people'll judge them harshly for any little slip. TBH they're probably not that bothered as they seem to have done the numbers and decided it's commercially viable to be scumbags.

It's a really good analogy; but sometimes a weak mech hanger is a 3A fuse when you really want a 13.

Nope, I just live in a world where stuff rarely goes to plan/my way/mistakes are made. It's how they are dealt with that matters.
Did you phone them before ranting on here? Did they refuse to send you the correct part?

when a wheel is clamped in?
Has that ever happened?
I snapped the chain stay on a 2004 Bullit when i landed to flat from about 3m (not on purpose) and the mech caught a rock on impact. I'm still not sure how I walked away from that crash without any broken bones. Lots of blood and bruising, but that was it. LBS got me another swingarm.
re: derailleur hangers
I've had a bike that repeatedly broke hangers with no crash or setup issues (chain length), and several customers with the same bike (I'd sold them these bikes) with the same issue
turns out the hanger "socket" in the dropout was miss machined, the hanger was then carrying the wheel axle, rather than the axle sitting directly on the dropout.
I could then also see the rear wheel was slightly misaligned.
Any sufficient impact would cause the hanger to fracture, 1 impact put the X0 rear mech into the rear wheel, ruining mech and rear wheel!
Cure was to file out the axle slot on the hanger, so the axle was now sitting on the dropout directly.
Hence, lots of filing of hangers for myself and customers 🙄
