[Closed] Planet X carbon bottle cage without the branding - where to buy?

I've had one of these on my bike for years - it's great - I would like to buy another (in fact another 2 or 3) as it weighs nothing, holds bottles tight and looks good.

I'd prefer it without the Planet X branding though - I assume it's a generic China made product, so does anyone know where to find them in their unbranded form (presumably it's cheaper that way too?)

Stick some tape over it. My mate did. Though why you need to??.

Because I like the nice matt finish of the cage - which is the same as the bike frame - as it's going on my "good" bike I'm being a tart and wanting it to look all pretty. The on that's been on my bike (well, transferred between several bikes) has the Planet X branding on - I never felt the need to tape it, but if I'm buying more I'd prefer to get them unbranded.

Also because I've got my tight-wad head on and a generic product would be cheaper - presumably more like GBP10 each rather than GBP20

Fair comment. I've got four on various bikes but not seen any 'generic' ones. Wet n dry?.

Will it come off with a bit of acetone?

doverbiker - Thanks for the aliexpress tip. I'd searched ebay with no luck so I'll look there. Will post the link if I ever find it, if not I'll just order from planet x...

teamslug - as you've got 4 I guess you agree they're good so you see why I'm after more.

yokaiser - maybe, I've not tried. Am worried the solvent to remove the logo may also remove the resin !

Careful what you pick. I ordered two carbon holders for the price of one branded one and they were very poor. Way to thin and flexible. Bottles bounced out straight away on rigid MTB. Branded one would clamp like a vice.

Get what you pay for

survivor - I totally agree. The PlanetX ones work very well - through several years of off-road riding I've never lost a bottle, and the broken one was my own silly fault - so I want that exact model.

If I can get a pre-planetx-branding and markup version of the same part then great. If not I'll pay the planetx price and accept the branding rather than mess around with unreliable stuff that will cost more in the long run.

I've got 6 of the Planet X ones, so await news with interest. They're excellent.

P20, that's similar but a different design.

Not found it yet. Plenty of similar designs but not the exact one. If anyone does please post - there are clearly a few fans here!

Acetone on a rag worked a treat on my Clarkes black ones, so well worth a go.

I've had a few of these, two on current bikes and the previous one eventually wore out...the tab on the bottom broke off.

Good cage tbh, by far the best thing I've ever had from Planet-X
