I ordered a little lot of bits and bobs from PX yesterday -- sealant, GT85, inner gear cables, that sort of thing. Order went through at 1243.

As I was going to bed I noticed I had an email from them at 2238 saying my order had shipped. Oh aye, I thought 🙂

This morning, at 0754, another ping and I had an ICS calendar thingy from them saying my order would be delivered by Anthony the DPD driver between 1131 and 1231 today.

So assuming Anthony gets here when they reckon (and the tracker says he's just down the road with just under 20 drops to go) that's a turnaround of just under 24 hours from my order to my door.

I know PX get mixed reviews around here, but I think that's pretty impressive!

It's weird when you win the postage lottery isn't it?

Ribble managed to get some brake cables to me in under 24hrs last week...

I’ve been finding that delivery estimates have been conservative, but actual delivery has been pretty quick lately.
Speaking to my postie (which we do often, she has a plate in her ankle just like mine)
She says they are busier than xmas, but it’s went on continually for months.

However, when you open the parcel it will have a bent mech hangar, a single sock not a pair, or a random bit of 2005 tat their trying to get rid of instead of the order you placed...

Breaking news! Anthony's only gone and gone up the hill away from my house.

Don't they realise that there's now an entirely imaginary 24-hour challenge to be won in my head?

Tense times here.

I've found PX considerably better for delivery times than Wiggle at the moment, possibly due to Wiggle switching to (*shudder*) Hermes.

Put an order in myself on Monday at ~2300, delivered ~1200 yesterday by DPD, quickest order to delivery I've had by a country mile.

Seemed decent price on KMC chains (£10 for X8 8-speed, £15 for X11 11-speed), chanced a few pairs of their own non-finned pads for BR-RS505/805 for £4 each, along with Holdworth bibs/jersey/socks and their now £40 TT helmet. Oh and a shim so I could run a 27.2mm seat post on the Wazoo.

Now just need to get this on-off shower and maybe thunderstorm day out of the way to give it a test drive.

It's possible.

I've never had anything quite that bad, but my first order from them I think contained half of somebody else's order too 🙂

My last couple of Wiggle orders were delivered by Yodel - both without any problems.

I've just had an Argos delivery - ordered 9pm yesterday, delivered just before 10am this morning. Very happy with that.

I got a PX delivery the other day by DPD. Ordered Friday delivered Monday. A supposed overnight delivery from Wiggle took 3 days via Hermes and I've been waiting a week for something from Bikester who also use Hermes.....

Anthony flipping smashed it! Here by 1140 ish.

So that's order to front door in around 23 hours.

*And* the parcel had all the stuff in it. Not even any odd socks or old crisp packets.

Well good.

People always moan about the "rip off postage" at PX, but they've always been ace at getting stuff to me when they say they will, and it usually arrives in the right condition with exactly what I ordered.

Even when some sealant was dog shit, they refunded me for it, even though I couldn't send it back to them.

My Planet X experiences have been positive too, generally arriving when they should. My Big Dog came very well packaged, no head tube or mech manger poking through the box as others have mentioned. In fact the mech hanger and thru axle weren't attached to the frame, they came in their own plastic bags wrapped up inside the box. The dropouts had a cardboard spacer tube fitted too.

My latest order for some tyres is on it's way back to Planet X as the beads distorted on the first ride. Frustrating but not Planet X's fault. I contacted them using their online form and was asked for pictures, then they sent me a returns label. The process took a week, but it's a busy time to I can tolerate that. The parcel is still on it's way to them so I'm not sure how smoothly the refund process will go, but I'll at least let them try and sort it before worrying about it.

I know others have had bad experiences from them, but based on my personal experiences I'm happy to continue using them.

Had to do a double take on that. Read it as " In fact head tube and mech hanger weren't attached to frame" !!!
