Newnham Park is privately owned & apart from the organised MTB events there you cannot ride there, outside of the cycle events it’s a shooting range so probably best not to ride in there anyway

I've played too many video games, I just see that as a precision timing/dodging challenge! Noticed the clay pigeons on the one section.

We had another great weekend at Pivot, I done the 12hr solo and ended up 5th, which I was happy with, there was no way I was going to repeat the win from last year as that was just a matter of survival!, The kids done all their races which are always a highlight for us although it does make the weekend a hectic one.

Personally I thought the course was great, I hate climbing and am not particularly great at it, so am happy to grind out a shorter steep climb than the long one every lap. There was a rock in the ground halfway up that I used as a marker so I could keep my head down and not look up!

I saw one k#*b overtaking a group of riders who had slowed down behind a lady after the sharp hairpin at the bottom of cottage return. He was in full enduro mode and overtook about 4 people in one go and chopped back in before the descent to the road crossing. He then decided he couldn’t actually ride a bike and slowed right down as we got into the camping area and everybody overtook him again.

I was in a Berkshire Cycle Co black jersey and I tried to give everybody fair warning and plenty of space, I apologise if anything was too close, it certainly wasn’t intended!

I always say to people who I come up behind that if I can’t make up the 10 seconds I may lose waiting over 12hrs then I have bigger issues than anybody slowing me down. I think that also applies to teams who over 12/24hrs always have faster or slower laps.

i don’t know if we will return next year as the weather is really a curse there, we are still discussing it. My kids love the weekend, high fiving, handing out sweets, and squirting people with water pistols and the riders do really make their weekend by playing along, so thanks to all for that.

Does anybody have any links to any of the other photographers that were about? I’m pretty sure I was papped twice on the course, and definitely on the podium, but I can’t find any photos of me. I’m quite intrigued, as I’m fairly sure that I was pulling a ridiculous face both times whilst riding…
