i'm looking at getting one in small. the medium is massive. it has boost rear but how many hubs have the hub flanges spaced to this and what makes?

Never heard someone call a Mach 6 "massive" - the reach on them is incredibly short
Hope and pretty much all the major brands do boost hubs now, you just need to roder a 148x12 version of whatever you want.
EDIT - reach on the XL Mach 6 is 425mm - same as a medium Santa Cruz Bronson, and Santa Cruz aren't know for makign long bikes. Medium Transition Patrol is 432mm
