Have been looking through threads regarding this age-old debate on greases for pivot bearings, after trying to absorb the information from various parties of varying qualification, I set off in search of an affordable and relevant grease.
Rocol came up in one thread and after searching through some of their range and finding most came with huge price tags I had about given up. But then I scouted out the "Hi-Pressure 2" product and it looks to be an ideal match to the performance requirements in an MTB pivot cartridge bearings.
Designed for large slow moving plain bearings under huge loads this translates well for our needs. The water wash out rating is outstanding and corrosion protection is good.
Would love to hear opinions and perhaps stimulate discussion on any other candidates for this job. This is the best I've found so far without a price tag that far outweighs the benefits.
