Has anyone got any opinions on these? I need a new rear tyre to replace a slightly ropey looking Dissector and the Scorpions are half the price of a new Dissector.

I've read a few reviews and some of them don't sound too favourable but I prefer real world feedback.

Specifically, I'm looking at the Trail S ProWall in 2.4 to replace a Dissector 2.4WT 3c exo.

I see they also do an eMTB specific compound which is supposed to be a bit more durable without compromising grip which sounds good if it works. They're not so cheap though.

Riding is a mixture. Surrey Hills, Chilterns, Peak District, Wales. Mostly natural stuff.

Do we reckon they're worth a shot?

I run Trail S front and Trail M rear and have honestly been blown away with how good this combo is.

Tone of grip up front, I can really lean into it, rear does it's job and they carry speed as well...

I tried the Trail R before the M, again was a good tyre but I wanted taller tread for better breaking and cornering traction. Didn't notice any loss or gain in rolling resistance.

They're quite tough as well. Given them several good tests in the lakes. Only punctured once when I had the pressure a bit low.

I ride a short travel full suss on mainly natural trails, moorland stuff, lakes etc with occasional tail centre and I don't hang about so they've took a beating.

Give them a try. I'd be surprised if you were disappointed.

I was pretty disappointed, but I am probably using it in a different situation to you. I ride lots of dust over hard in Australia on a short travel FS which is pretty rocky.

I had a pair of  scorpion xc rc (which are mega). But I wanted something with a bit more bite up front for trail park days. So I got an scoprpion trail m for the front. I was pretty disappointed because it wouldn’t grip up as well as the xc rc  in the corners and was heavier than both a Bontrager xr4 (that replaced it) or the xc rc.

That said, it may work well for you on the rear, given the things I didn’t like were probably what you’re looking for (extra weight is more sidewall protection which would be good for the rear, and still being fast rolling) particularly at that price.

Not quite the same, but funny enough I put an Enduro R on yesterday to replace a Dissector. It looks the business but wil get to try it tomorrow morning.
Recommended by a suspension wizard friend of mine as he reckons it works well on our local Australian tracks - hard pack, rocky, loose over hard, rooty, sandy… sometimes wet. Dissector is normally great but this was well priced.

Suspiciously all mates who tried them are raving about them. Especially the XC versions seem to have excellent grip for how fast they roll.

Hmmm, mixed reviews so far then.

Some of the published reviews I've read mention the tyres feel harsh and clattery which doesn't sound like something I'd want.

I might give it a try. At just over £20, even if it's terrible it's not the end of the world!
