For mixed general trail riding (natural and occasionally trail center) how would these two compare. DHR 2 in 2.4 exo dual compound and Scorpion S 2.4 hardwall?
I've read reviews of both and my thinking is dhr better grip but draggier?

I was wondering about the Goodyear Newton MTR as a cheaper alternative to the 2.4 DHR2. Going for £29.99 at the moment on CRC in trail / 29er / 2.4 flavour.

I know its reviewing a 2.6 but the take is Grippy Draggy Wears quickly

Nobody have anything on the Scorpion?

Can we get STW to test them for us?

How would that normally happen with a new product - does STW or the brand initiate it? And given they've been out a few months, why aren't they on test already?

Used a scorpion s and r all this year and they blew me away .only tried the s up front but it was great .
But as soon as it gets a tad greasy in the woods it lacks the grip of a dhr2 not by much but enough for me to take it off and use it as a 3 season tyre
If you don't gi off the beaten track over winter ie stick to the more hardpack trails you'll be fine .
Come summer you'll be flying these things are fast .

I've a 2.4 Scorpion on the rear on my Hardtail. It's fast and predictable with a nice profile on a 30mm (internal) rim. Surprised they don't get more love but I suppose that people like to stick to what they know.

Edit: after checking, mines a M, sorry. Did I mention that they're tough too?

I did run a Scorpion S Enduro on the back last winter after the R wore out over summer. Went to a Trail S on the front then & put the Enduro S on the back.
They both rolled well & no punctures on the S, 1 snake bite on the R. Main reason I sacked Maxxis off.
I did get an Enduro M for the rear, but that was really shit. The revised version looks a lot better.
Currently I'm running a Continental Argotal front & Kryptotal R rear & they're brilliant.
