Hello,
I've been wondering about what upgrades are avalible for a Pinnacle Arkose Two (2014). Everything is other then tyres as purchased about 5 years ago so still 10 speed 105 with the TRP hydraulic brakes.

I'd really like to change from a bar end gear shifter to a shifter in the brake leaver but I don't want to loose the hydraulic brakes. Everything I've seen is 11 speed and I'm not sure if that means I'd have to upgrade the rear mech and casset (and freehub?).

Any suggetion on larger tyres or chainring would also be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Depending on the mileage it’s probably in need of new cassette anyway, so a full group set is what you need. SRAM do 1x11 full hydro that are not too expensive (but still a few hundred quid) maybe look out for second hand.
The most noticeable upgrade when you’re in the saddle would be wheels and tyres. Superstar is always my go to place for bargain wheels that are decent.
Tyres depends on where you ride- on/off road.

Shimano's new GRX series has a 10 speed version, but it's 2x10 and you're running a single ring.

If you didn't want to upgrade your whole drivetrain I don't know whether it might be possible to mix a 10 speed right hand shifter with a left hand, single ring one from the 11 speed groupset, or whether this would get messy. I also don't know if the Tektro callipers are compatible with the Shimano levers.

Thanks I didn't know about the Shimano GRX gear. I'm guessing the 10 speed stuff will be compatible with my Shimano 105 rear cassette and derailleur.

I'm sure some new wheels would be a good upgrade thanks for the tip. Any idea what the max width for the 15mm internal rims on the bike at the moment. Looks like a fair bit of clearance with my current 35c tyres.
