I enjoyed watching this with a beer last night, already looking forward to the Champery one.

So is the Les Gets WC course open to the public the rest of the year? Looks more manageable than some of them.

Will check the video later, but was at the race... looked like riding through peanut butter!

Also 'rode' the La Thuile DH track a few days earlier... damn that place is steep. The way they ride some of this stuff is insane. Long Live DH!!

Usually 50-75% open, some bits are not. But often we've been there around the WC so they may have closed it for trail repair/build rather than it always being closed.

Having walked it, it's mostly the steep section that'd kill an average guy, but depends on the conditions/speed. Then of course the gaps, but i'm personally not counting them either way as they're a complete no-no.

Obviously those lads are better than me anyway as there's no way i'm clearing the jumps

I love La Thuile, but yeah, it's pretty full on.
Slightly easier now that they've sanitised it a little bit.

It's much steeper than it looks in that. Unrideable in those conditions. They did well.

Great watch, gives you mad respect for downhill racers. The fact that it's their job to go down THAT as fast as possible - just terrifying!

From my (very limited) experience, the DH event relies upon the upper chairlift at Mount Chery to get to the start. But for most of the year, outside the DH weekend, that chairlift doesn't take bikes. However, I’d guess that the rest of the course should be accessible?

That's true. Regular access starts at the reservoir. You can ride most of the lower sections but they remove the jumps which makes the stream crossings and stuff possible. You can't do a full run but you can sample it.

Hope they do the Champery one, Ive ridden that track and while it wasnt muddy it was wet under the trees and had some incredibly steep sections, after getting taken out by the 10th slick exposed rooty corner, I was almost relieved to rip my rear brake hose out and have an excuse not to ride the last 3rd of the track

Obviously the bill in the Swiss bike shop at the bottom for re-attaching the hose and a new set of pads was not pleasant

Anyway, be genuinely intrigued to see how Harry & Charlie would make it down!
