Just taken Fox 34 off - had a 203mm rotor with Shimano 203 adaptor - ran perfectly. Just fitted new Pike with same set up and pads barely biting the rotor. I know the Pikes come set up to be used with min 180 rotor...do I now need a 180mm adaptor to run the 203 rotor? 203 adaptor puts calliper too far from rotor....no adaptor is not far enough. Tiny brain can’t cope in this heat! Today’s fork shakedown ride scuppered 😔
You need a +23mm rotor, a shimano 203 will space out 43mm. Shimano do make a 180-203 rotor adapter now, or you can use a hope 183mm one.

I had issues using a 203 rotor with a 180mm adapter with outer edge of the disc rubbing the caliper. I spaced it out with washers. All good now.
Thanks Nick - is this 100% what I need? Off to BPW Sat so have to get order right first time. Just out of interest I tried the rear 180 adaptor - not a clean solution without packing a load of washers in as too tight on rotor.
Rear 180 will work but youll need 1.5mm washers as youve got 203 discs not 200. Yes thats the adapter for a 180 for to 203, theres probably a uk stockist if you need quicker. Try amazon.
