I've got a set of Pikes with lowers that are impossible to remove, without using a compressor. The 10mm bolt that sits on the shaft just rotates with the shaft prevent the lowers from coming off. TFT could fix, so I'm left with an annual service there with no maintenance in between.

Anyone know if there is a way of injecting some oil into the lowers to maintain the 15ml in each leg? Pretty sure they are running comletely dry well between service intervals.

Is it possible to remove the inner part of the negative air valve possibly and fire in some oil like you would with slime into a tyre?

cheers

try compressing the fork (use a strap) and then removing the bolt. Or try using an air wrench - spins the bolt fast

Thanks, I think an air wrench was what TFT used. Might be worth investing in one.

I'll try the strap idea, cheers.

I thought my Revs had a similar problem this afternoon, fixed by adding some air back into the negative chambre, which maybe had the same effect?
