I’ll get us started. First ride from Llangollen. How have I never ridden here before? It’s awesome - big skies, big hills, rocky descents, tough climbs and so very, very wet. I’ve not ridden down a river for 3 minutes before.

Good times. Some photos

Last one is the final climb. 25% gradient. 240m. Already climbed 1000m+. 1km of road hell. It was worth it for the descent. Next time I’ll get some pics of the descents as they were amazing.

Right what have you got?

I went to see the sunrise, but the cloud lifted a little too late for me. I only saw one other person and it was ace!

Saturday morning:

Hello Erik ... Gusts of 50 mph you say? ... OK, Culbin forest it is then.

Out through the trees, along the shoreline with the storm at my back then back into the trees for the return to the car. That will do nicely 🙂

@rocketdog
grew up in Alcester but dont recognise that, looking like either coldcomfort woods or a cheeky route up primrose hill? I guess thats as good as it gets for offroad round there!

Some ace pics on this thread. I got stuck indoors and had to put up with a manky midweeker.

Actually one of me riding. That was one of the drier trails 😉

Llangollen MTB - Feb 2018 by Alex Leigh, on Flickr

And another backlit one. I already want to go back and ride all those trails again.

I wrote a thing. Warning includes a few swear words caused by over-excitement 😉

You got a strava link or a gpx you can post up Alex? I could use a cracking NE Wales ride.

Put together another little ride for my club. Only two others came in the end, with a few ducking out because of the weather forecast. Oh how we laughed at them!

Edit: Embedding Instagram posts only seems to work when I'm not trying.

Alex - Do you have a map or GPX of your route? I'd like to try Llangollen out.

@blackflag: (also in post above to Martin): This should work : https://www.strava.com/activities/2137041588It was my first time round so wasn’t really taking much notice of navigation, but it didn’t feel that tricky. The last descent is brilliant, make sure you’ve got a bit left for that!

Delamere Monster Cross. Camera flattens the gradient, a lot of the CX riders were running down, or had a foot out. Me, GERONIMOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
