Ok getting a bit obsessed now but only going to buy once so want to get it right. Anyone used both the vr50 photochromics and the clear- black iridium versions?

These are to be one lense for cx, mtb and on the road so I thought the clear-black would be the best choice although seems like both go to same darkness (10%)? Not steaming up in the winter is a priority, so looking at vented versions (although radarlock lense doesnt seem to have hydrophobic coating)

Thanks in advance

I've had both in my Jawbones. Get clear-black. They go an imperceptible degree off totally clear which is waaaaaay clearer than the VR50's - and they go just as dark.

hydrophobic coating is applied after isn't it? Comes in a separate bottle, £17 on the Oakley shop.

pretty sure I answered this for you previously.

clear black have a slightly lighter range ime - ie they go from near enough clear to slightly less dark than vr50 will go.

I have Clear->Gold Iridium. They are not completely clear, I reckon ~5% blocking.

Matt the radar lenses have it applied already but seems radar locks don't

Clubber, yeah I never found the thread you referred to previously and also was after someone's experience using them both which is why timmy's reply is really useful. cheers all though
