As we're heading to North Manchester tomorrow to visit friends, I thought I may take advantage of the journey to put the bikes in the car and take my 7 year old nephew round the trails in Philips park, as used for the excellent "hit the north" event 😉

When we did a preview ride, we parked down near the "civic amenity centre", or "tip" as it's more accurately known. Is there anywhere better for us to park or is that best? We'll be coming in from Rivington way if that makes a difference

There is a car park up at the top by the hall. You need to go in at the rugby club entrance and over the motorway. Easiest way is to come off the M60 at Prestwich heading north towards Bury. Left at Cooksons cycles, straight ahead at the lights, straight on at the little roundabout then past the rugby club on the left and into the park.
There is a marked trail round the park - I think your nephew will enjoy it! 🙂

Outside Terrahawks house. Well, that's where I park when I go there... 🙂

Bumpity bump. Although it's *battering* down here so we may not actually ride, better to know where to go if we do go...

Just wondering if there are other places - we did preview rides from the rugby club for the first HTN, so I do know that way in. Always better to ask 🙂

Bump. We parked near the play park as the road to the hall was closed. We'd have been better parking near the tip though as getting a tired 7 year old to cycle all the way back up the hill to the hall and then furhter to the car was not a fun experience 🙁
