As above really - the wife keeps "reminding" me to look at getting some personal accident cover in case of an accident keeping me away from work, and hence not earning etc. Not that I'm a serial crasher (well, not a serious one anyway), but last nights' TV show with some poor guy in an induced coma after coming off his BSO started the "reminding" all over again! In all seriousness, its' something I really should do, but any suggestions? I'm employed, not self-employed if that makes any difference, and its' just recreational riding, not racing etc.
isn't the answer to join BC or Cycling UK? in the event of a car RTA then you have legal recourse to claim - it doesn't cover you for accidentally falling off without anyone else involved, you'd need Accident, Sickness and Unemployment policy for that
Sports Cover Direct are good if you do multiple sports.
Yes, if it wasn't clear, really looking for suggestions for anyone who does accident, sickness, unemployment type insurance that anyone has used and has decent service/prices off - not hoping that anyone has had to claim of course!
Unemployment type insurance is usually very expensive and only really appropriate for the self employed. You should find out what your company policy is on long term time off work due to injury. You should be covered as that's part of the point of being employed.
Not in work, don't get paid apart from SSP.
I looked into this years ago. I found it impossible to get anything worthwhile at a reasonable cost.
Thanks tjagain, that's what I was fearing...
