Want to get some prescription spec to ride in, but due to the strength of my prescription, I can't it into glasses with a large curve.
I came across these, which you can clip a insert in to. Just wondering if anyone has used these or anything similar. I so, how did you find them?
Cheers
I looked into it for me as my prescription is pretty bad but just gave up.
I forgot to put the link in!?

Rudy Rydons with Rx insert for this +5 glasses wearer. They are my absolute favorite cycling accessory. I love them. The photoreactive outer lenses are surprisingly effective too. I wear them on and off road, and in the office when I forget my normal glasses.
The inserts look naff, weigh a lot and have four surfaces for mist to form. I've just bought some excellent Shoptic specs in varifocal and photochromic. Can't find their website but my optician seems to have good access.
The Shoptics can take any prescription because the lenses are cleverly mounted in a sub-frame that fits in the very curved frame.
As Globalti, a mirror lens cures the naff look if it bothers you, but misting is a real pain, and the weight means constant slipping down the nose. I perservered with Bolle edge 2s with inserts for years as they were still much better than normal glasses, but moving to M-Frames with inserts was a big (and expensive)step forward.
globalti,
who is your optician? I can't find anything online for the specs you describe. My prescription is -5 so my choice is somewhat limited
I use prescription safety glasses from uvex. meteor 9134, they do the job for me.
I just got a new pair of Rydons with the insert and they are great. But make sure you get them from someone who really understands what they are doing. I got a pair online once and they were useless as the lens wasn't properly corrected for the curve. Took me a lot of hassle to get my money back. My new pair are properly corrected, optimised for a bike riding position, and have a small bifocal section so I can see to fix mechanicals. Top marks to Charnleys in Leamington.
My prescription is -10.5, and I use Rudy Project Exception and Rudy Project Maya both of which have relatively flat inserts. If you do want higher base lenses then you'll need to look at Rupp+Hubrach who will custom design and manufacture lenses to fit frames.
My optician is Schuller in Lambs Conduit St, Central London. Ask for Erika as she specialises in sports eyewear.
I've not found the Rydons to slip, nor fog excessively - all glasses will fog, and nobody seems to notice the inserts.
Mine were glazed flat rather than curved by my optician and there is a little distortion, but your brain will correct for that in a few moments. If you go with the insert, bend them to the correct orientation first and the ask for them to be glazed.
I can't recommend them enough. I'm wearing them in the Gorrick 100 below, and the photochromatic changes never meant they were too dark.
My optician is the very excellent Zunaid Ali at Ideal Eye Care just north of Blackburn. I can't recommend him strongly enough; everything I've had from him has been outstanding. Ask him about Shoptic and tell him Ben sent you.

These are what he made me; they are perfect:
