Theres a lovely wooden footbridge in the woods behind my house, its part of a little warm up loop I do at the start of a ride and it crosses a burn that has cut deep into the sandstone. At this time of year the horse chesnut beside it drops its leaves but everything around it is still green. On a nice autumn day like today you get a long shaft light that cuts through woods and hits the carpet of copper and gold leaves that carpet the bridge - and it sings amongst the green around it and sparkling burn deep below it.

And what I learn anew, every year: Those leaves might as well be ball bearings. ooft.

Wot I learened.
It may be sunny and blue skies but at about half five as the sun dips the temperature immediately drops about 10 degrees and thin arm warmers ,fingerless gloves and a gillet don't provide much warmth at 20mph....

I learnt today that after a week riding in the Andalucian mountains with Ciclo Montana, even though it was sunny today it was bloomin' cold!
