Having a look on google maps for some CX type routes in the Pennines, and came across a route from Sparty Lea to Corbridge along a road marked as the long Drag. Was thinking perhaps a there and back at 30 miles would be a reasonable ride.
Anyone have any experience of this route or similar ones in the area.
Don't know the exact road, but know round Whitley Chapel, Rowley Burn where it passes. I usually just follow my nose round that area, loads of good stuff on the CX, cut into Slaley Woods, use some of the Bolts Law route etc...
Looks a good ride, will be a nice climb from Sparty Lea!
I left it a bit late in the day to explore the long Drag fully, but it was a nice CX/Gravel type ride. loads more to explore. The wind was a killer on the way back today. A Hardtail MTB would not have been overkill for the track either.
Looking forward to returning with a bit more time ( and light ) to spare.
Looks good, will have to explore that!
