So, i've just reconstructed the 'cross bike out of its summer guise as a commuter, and fancied a long day out in the hills to celebrate.
Had a look at the route guide and the long route out at Peebles looks quite promising (60km, lots of climbing), but wasn't sure if it would be 'cross bike friendly. Of course that's a very subjective matter, but if it's mostly smooth trails and there isn't mile after mile of gnarly rocks, then i'd call it cross bike friendly.
Anyone ridden it?
Also, anyone fancy coming along on short notice? Going to head down from Edinburgh and try to get going from Peebles about 10ish, try and do it in not too many hours ... and then if i'm not completely dead, I'd be keen to go to innerleithen with the MTB for a cheeky red-route before going home.
Any thoughts/riding buddies welcome.
That sounds ace, alas work prevents me coming.
Another time?
Think i'm going to head down and check it out anyway as i've got a rare completely free day, but i've got a feeling it'll be really nice so i'll want to do it again anyway. I might have the morning free tomorrow, so was thinking I could head into the pentlands for a couple of hours on the crosser too...
