I'm looking at treating myself to some new pedals, I've read varying pages including DC Rainmaker. It would appear the Assioma's generally get better reviews than the Garmin Vectors, primarily it seems that the Assioma are better made and have better weatherproofing.
However, what does confuse me and I can find no or little information on how the Assioma's data is handled.
I use Garmin and Garmin Connect for my running and cycling.
Will I be able to download the data from the Assioma's directly onto Garmin Connect? Will the information they provide integrate fully with the Connect data?
If it does, then brilliant, if it doesn't then I'm not sure I want another system, and if that is the case then I'll be forced down the Vector route.

The data is just transmitted to your Bike computer via ant+/BLE. What you upload that to wont change.

IIRC there were a few bits the Garmin pedals would only transmit to garmin computers but thats changed as other manufacturers added those data fields.

It depends on your Garmin head unit, any that support power meters will get the basic data but only the newer models will collect and show the pedalling dynamics data. If you search DC rainmakers site you will find list of units offering full support.

I’ve had both. The Garmin Vector 3 pedals are brilliant when they work but the sets I had suffered from drop outs. They also ate batteries cost me over a £5 a month on replacement disposable batteries. I went through 3 sets of pedals before flogging them and buying Assiomas. The Assiomas are just as good with data, are very reliable and are rechargeable. I just plug them into a USB charger once a month.

Assiomas pedal data connects to my Garmin 830 and uploads at the end of the ride through to Garmin connect same as the Vectors. They both do Bluetooth and ant/ble. You need the 520/820 onwards to get the pedal dynamics.

Only criticism of the Assiomas is that the pedals aren’t weighted so can spin a bit if you miss a clip in. Not a big issue just a minor niggle. In my opinion after living with both long term the Assiomas are far superior.
