Peaty's or Halfords tyre sealant?

Looking to try something different in terms of tyre sealant. I noticed Peaty's appears to have changed colour and packaging. Does that mean new formula? And is it any good?

Alternatively, has anyone tried the Halfords stuff? Cheap and easy to get.

I've tried a few, but always end up back on Stan's.
The last lot of Peaty's that I used was horrible to handle. Like PVA glue with glitter in it. Nasty at tyre change time.

Just avoid the Muc-Off stuff - it is rubbish. And if you have bought it, you need to water it down by about 30% to get it to vaguely work

I’ve tried a few, but always end up back on Stan’s.

I've used em all pretty much. I'm aware of a couple of obscure brands that aren't readily available in the UK, but otherwise have experience of all of it over the years.

There's a reason why we all end up back on Stans in the end... It offers the best blend of actually working as it is supposed to, not drying out too quickly, not being so ludicrously expensive as to question running tubeless in the first place, and it's readily available...

Caveat... Orange Seal really is a very good high performance product, and will seal holes larger than Stans can. But it also dries out a lot quicker, is more expensive, and the benefits don't outweigh the negatives for most people short of those racing most weekends with their own mechanic in tow.

I just ordered more OKO Magic Milk- the hi fibre version. It's ime just as good as anything else I've used, but also doesn't dry out much, and it's water soluble so if it does go a bit dry you can wet it again. And cleans out really easily for the same reason. I've basically stopped looking for better now, just about every sealant has some sort of embuggerment but this stuff just does the job.

I've been using the Oko magic milk hi fibre stuff as well. It seems to be reasonably good, possibly not quite as good as stans, but as someone who changes tyres very regularly I really like the fact it cleans off with just water. As a nice little bonus it is often significantly cheaper than stans

Right, I'll give Stan's a go.
Not impressed with CaffeLatex. May as well have stuck a flat white in the tyre!

Scrap that, Peaty's stuff has been reformulated. Decided to give it a go.

New Stuff

A litre of Stan's costs 18 euros from the German stores and lasts two or three years. It just works. I've never had a single puncture that it couldn't fix in the seven years I've been running tubeless.

I regularly take off tyres at the end of the season and they're like a bed of nails inside with hawthorn thorns that have gone through but I never noticed because the Stan's has just got on and done the job. No reason to look anywhere else.

^^^^^ just wait until a Peaty’s tyre change, you’ll be going back to Stan’s.

Just got back from a ride and washed the bike for the first time in weeks. It looked like there was chewing gum stuck to my rear tyre, really annoying. Looking closer it was Stans around a 4 inch nail. I've had a slow puncture for a month or so - now I know why.

I'll be sticking to Stans.

The original peatys was about as useful as condensed milk

Only ever used Stan's. Never felt compelled to use anything else.

Seriously, the bike was that dirty you couldn't see a 4 INCH nail in your tyre, how is that even remotely possible?!

It was inside the tyre, presumably at an angle. It's now in my bin.
