Just wondering if anyone has been to one. There's one in a few weeks.
Not really after buying anything - well, put it this way...I don't NEED anything - but have a few bits I'd like to offload. Is it like a car boot where some cheeky scrote will offer peanuts or do you generally get a fair price? Well attended? Ultimately though is it worth going to if you might fancy picking up a few bits or want to sell? TIA
Hopefully, it's going to be busy and people will get a fair price. I've quite a bit if mid to high end kit to offer up to new homes. Three sets if Hope brakes, fox forks, Hope wheels. Easton bars and Stems and a couple of frames.
If it's just full of people offering peanuts, at least all my stuff is cleaned, sorted and serviced ready to go on eBay.
I've reserved a stall as it's not much more than 2 early bird entry tickets and I've been meaning to go last couple of years, not that there's anything I need particularly. I'm taking things I've been hording just in case (like good 1-1/8" steerer forks that are hard to find now) and I know what they are worth on eBay and won't be accepting low ball offers on, but also a bunch of low value parts that are too much effort to list online, so I'll be happy with a quid or two for those just to shift them. For the stuff that's worth a bit do people carry cash or expect to pay by card? PayPal gift? PayPal now card reader?
I'll accept cash or PayPal friends and family. You can see the item and take it away so I don't see any point in paying PayPal fees.
Yes PayPal Gift / Friends not that I'm bothered about fees, more the possibility of item not delivered claims with no proof of posting, as long as it's an generally accepted way for folk to pay for these sort of sales.
Now the other thread about PayPal charge backs is making me twitchy.
