You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Steve Peat was nominated, elected and subsequently inducted to the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. This required a visit to my town, Fairfax California to accept the award. The MTB HoF is housed in the Marin Museum of Bicycling.
The day starts with the the "Hall of Fame ride", which includes as many inductees as can show up. This year that included Joe Breeze, Tom Ritchey, Steve, Jacquie Phelan and a bunch of locals who paid to ride with this crowd.
The ride was an hour of challenging singletrack, and the local flow trail, because the museum is a short bike ride away from the Tamarancho mountain bike trail system.
The induction that night was at a big dinner attended by more cycling celebrities. Steve was inducted along with Simon Kennet of the New Zealand Kennet Brothers, who pioneered off road riding in Kiwi Land, and Josh Bender, who invented the idea of riding bicycles off cliffs in Utah for fun, profit, Red Bull sponsorship and huge crashes.
Where's the big thumbs up button?
Josh Bender. Met him 12 years ago and he was a box of frogs - smoking dope to numb the pain caused by all his crashes. Is he still going?
Looked like peaty was ragging your Ferrari in Cali according to his Instagram.
I've been to Fairfax, Cali. Ate a pizza thicker than a man's arm.
True story.

There's an interesting article in bikemag titled "josh bender: the last of my kind".
Thought this was gonna be about Peaty's UK tour, chatting on-stage, or being interviewed. Saw a Frank Bruno thing like it years ago, was quite entertaining.
But it was still a nice thread subject 🙂
Rumour has it, a Steve Peat is ridding the Scott Trial on the 14th Oct.
Wouldn't be surprised to see him doing the Scott- his dad was a keen trials rider and I am sure the younger Peat had plenty of opportunity to learn about powered 2 wheelers.

He'll be the only one then, cos It's on the 13th.
He's done the SSDT a few times but....my mates son has beaten him on each occasion.
He's not that good at MC trials.
Thats why there is never anyone one around when I go along! Peat is better at trials than me, but thats not hard.
