With all this rain how are the trails riding round Peaslake for Sundays event, should Rocket Ron's be ok?

I rode a Racing Ralph (not sure how Rocket Rons compare?) on my rear wheel around there on Saturday...it was, um, interesting! Great fun if you like sliding around and spinning your wheels. Ralphs do not seem to work well when there is a layer of slimy mud on top of wet hardpack - like riding on ice at times.

It has rained almost solidly since and conditions are even worse than when I went out - deep mud and large puddles abound.

If you plan your mtbo route carefully and just use fireroads, you might be ok, but I would put Mud Xs or similar on.

Rons will be alright, not like it's claggy. You may make slightly better progress with a Dan/Mud X if you have one, but I'd not worry too much.

Wettest April on record I think, last Sunday there were some epic puddles at the bottom of south side of Winterfold and it was pretty sodden generally on Tuesday. It's rained every day this week and yesterday from 7am till 4 with only a couple of short breaks. Hopefully they will chose the checkpoints to take account of this.
