Yes I've looked on Keeper of the Peak...not that many reports though.

I'm hopefully skiving off work on Tuesday for a ride. Hoping to go to the peaks to do some kind of big yomp thing like wot I did back in the spring.

However there was a fair bit of rain around yesterday on the rainfall radar, particularly in the west. and some more on the way overnight tonight

My rough plan is to get the train to Chinley, ride over Jacob's ladder into Edale, then aim for train home from either
Penistone (over cut gate)
OR
Sheffield (probably via stanage / burbage edges, blacka hill)

(+ do a selection of interesting bits inbetween also).

If it's looking wet all over the place, or particularly wet in the west, then I'll adjust my plans

thanks!

It's pretty good at the Hayfield/Chinley end of things, certainly on rocky stuff. Dark Peak dries slowly then takes a while to get properly saturated again. I rode up - and down - the bridleway leading from the top of Highgate Road (Hayfield) on a cross bike with 30mm G-One Speeds this morning and it was fine, even the one perma-puddle hasn't really formed properly yet.

No idea what Cut Gate is like, but given that the boggy stuff has been slabbed, I'd happily ride it.

Nice one - thanks, I'm figuring Chinley > Elle Bank > main drag over Jacobs will all be fine then.
Then looking at hollins cross, win hill, stanage edge, burbage edge, blacka hills. Maybe some other bits.

Eastern side was either bone dry, or surprisingly wet. Some of the moorland singletrack was axle deep and very much "forget about it until April '23 earliest" state; Houndkirk has some monster puddles, but if it wasn't a puddle, pretty dry. Stanage Plantation & Blacka were both riding well.

I was walking up near Higgar / Owler today (eastern edges) and it seemed pretty dry. Boots are clean. You should go for it.

Not strictly speaking the peaks but the goyt valley and up by the cat rode great this afternoon. Clean bike and dry feet 👍
