Trying to figure out a route that will take in the beast, screaming mile and cavedale (peveril castle)
I'm thinking of parking at Hagg side, ladybower, clockwise up to cut throat bridge, back down to reservoir and up to wooler knoll, down to hope and along to castleton via the back road, across dirt low rake, down cavedale, up the mam tor road, push/carry for a little bit to get to hollins cross (not fussed about rushup), down to the edale road via the north-east bridleway, then up to hope cross, beast, screaming mile and car.
All suggestions welcome!
Ps - cavedale in the wet suicidal?

Does Cavedale ever get dry..?
Cavedale in the wet - as it should be. Cavedale on ice - now that's more interesting. 😈
Screaming Mile = Gores/lockerbrook farm?
Park at Hope. Up Pindale/Dirtlow Rake. Cavedale, Broken Road up to Mam Nick, along the edge to Hollins Cross, Back Tor, Jaggers, Beast, Hagg Farm, Screaming Mile, Fairholmes for scran, back up the cheeky fireroad to Lockerbrook farm, down Hagg, along the resevoir up the permissive bridleway to Wooler Knoll, across the top to the Roman Road, back down to Hope. More scran.
JE has my vote......it is a leg burner that.....
Stay low aong the res - and take the obviously used steep fireroad on the right. On that map^ it's shown as a FP, but it's actually a permissive B/way. Once you get to the top, hang a right through a bridle gate and do a shortish muddy climb up that brings you out on Hope Brink about by the 383 spot height .
Nice one - cheers!
@frogstomp - I think its more interesting to climb Mam Tor via the landslipped road, so take the right fork (nest to car park P symbol on your map) past the Caverns and towards Mam Farm then follow landslide road as it turns sharp left under the cliffs/Tor itself. The road climb you mention is quite spectacular with rocks etc but narrow and usually busy with traffic (and it's steep 😐 ). Otherwise your route s a good one IMHO
this looks like a good route so I've plotted it on gpsies

wasn't overly sure about a coupe of bits so would welcome any corrections
Thanks all - just got back from work to find route advice and a gpx for it 😀
Siloseven - that looks pretty much spot on. Definitely take the Broken Road rather than Winnat's - more entertaining as well as feeling a bit less vicious...
OK, good to know - another one for the 'to do' list then. Might need to get a bit fitter first through.

Thanks, I did look at the junction on StreetView and thought it was just a track up to a b&b.
Can anyone suggest an interesting way of getting up to the top of Jacob's from Edale, or am I best just sticking to the road round to where I can head up onto Coldwell Clough (near Hayfield)? Up Grinds Brook looks interesting, but the photos suggest it would be mostly hike-a-bike to the top..

Exactly the route I was going to suggest.

Up Chapel Gate, down Rushup, Roych Clough to Mount Famine. At Mount Famine turn right and ride the FP up to the top of Jacobs. It's mostly a rock pavement so fair game I reckon, not that the Park Rangers will agree, but if any jump out from behind a wall (not a joke BTW) just claim say you're lost and some walker told you the route 🙂

The first bit gets very muddy though, especially this time of year.
