I might just change the entire route now. In fact, yeah. Forget the route. I'm going to make it up tomorrow.

MWUHAHAHAHAHAHHA

Currently standing under a gazebo outside Pool Cafe, Hathersage. Rain bouncing off the campy and path, and a large group of very wet cyclists just arrived. Just waiting for it to slow up even a tiny bit before running to the car. It's gonna be mudtastic tomorrow on Rushup!

Onzaa that would be fun 😉

Das Kinder circuit is 95% rocky and scene of a previously successful pootle...

Either that or Decenbers pootle that offers a good route.

Trust your instincts, use the force Pook 🙂

It would be a shame to play it safe, the Peaks has a lot to offer...

Just want to reiterate what's been said above, thanks for a great Pootle!!
And NBT, thanks for the help with the puncture and advice!! 😀

And for those that want the recipe:
Brownies
4 oz unsalted butter, cut into pieces
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped (100 g bar Tesco's 74% will do)
1 cup caster sugar (250 g)
Pinch of salt
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup plain flour, sifted
Another 1/2 bar of good quality chocolate chopped into smallish lumps (optional)
Directions:
Preheat an oven to 350°F (180 °C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish, preferably glass.

In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and unsweetened chocolate. Heat, stirring often, until melted, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and salt. Add the eggs and vanilla and stir until well blended. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir until just blended. Stir in the chips.

Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out almost completely clean, about 30 minutes (longer if using a metal pan). Do not overbake. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let cool completely. Cut into 2 1/2-inch squares.
Makes 9 large brownies.

Yep, that was a grand day out as usual. Thanks as ever to Pook and nbt for route-deciding and cat-herding duties carried out faultlessly, and thanks to everyone else for being ace fun to ride with. Sorry I couldn't hang around for a pint, had to get home to entertain a small person for a bit. Cheers!

For the record I can now confirm, having lent him my pump, that Hora is in fact actually a real person...

Definately a very pleasant surprise this whole pootle lark! Even though I was initially a bit nervous at the concept of riding in such a humungazoid group, I thoroughly enjoyed it and how fantastic was the weather?! Big thumbs up to Pook for organising and leading it - top banana 🙂 (edited to add: and Jules too!!)
