I might just change the entire route now. In fact, yeah. Forget the route. I'm going to make it up tomorrow.
MWUHAHAHAHAHAHHA
maybe.
Just make them all ride up and down Jacobs ladder of 15 miles.
Currently standing under a gazebo outside Pool Cafe, Hathersage. Rain bouncing off the campy and path, and a large group of very wet cyclists just arrived. Just waiting for it to slow up even a tiny bit before running to the car. It's gonna be mudtastic tomorrow on Rushup!
Onzaa that would be fun 😉
Das Kinder circuit is 95% rocky and scene of a previously successful pootle...
Either that or Decenbers pootle that offers a good route.

Trust your instincts, use the force Pook 🙂
It would be a shame to play it safe, the Peaks has a lot to offer...
looks like its gonna be a busy night oncall.... which means i may need sleep tomorrow 🙁 will see how the rest of the night goes.
Anyone from Nottingham/ M1 j25+ need a lift?
Pook, about how many hours will we be pootleing 🙂
so I can let the other half know 🙂
If all 50+ turn up, I's guess the ride would take about 3 days!
normally about 3 hours plus pub time vix
Coming on small wheels now i've ****ed my stupid zero stack headset up on the Scandal 🙁
P.s Rushup climb is a Segment on Strava 😉
Many thanks 🙂
My little bag is packed and ready to go 😆
Lots of flapjack in there too
I've done you all a favour by not baking. Seriously.

Well I do like gingers
Is there anything you don't like, Hora??
Riding his bike.
Shhhhhhhh....don't say this too loudly but it's stopped raining and there's blue sky!
is this a 10.00 meet for 10.30 ride at edale station?
Yes Donk,10.15 set off.
Just setting off now.
Yawn, stretch!
Right time to go load up the car!
h4muf..
not the station, the car park opposite the cafe.
You'll find over 35 riders I guess!
donk - we're meeting at 10 in the big edale car park. Not at the station, though it is only a couple of hundred yards away.
ok hoping to be there. will be good to see plenty of forum faces but not looking forward to gate duty for >30 people 😯
meh - good excuse for a rest!
Don't forget lots change for the ticket machine!
When's the next one? (Late September hint) On-call weekends for holiday makers are getting in the way of MTB fun.
Aagh! I'll do this one first eh?

Thanks to all the gate holders.
Thanks to everyone else for making it an enjoyable day out
and final thanks to the nice prickly bush that broke my fall right near the end of the ride though it did decide to steal half my blood for the affrontry.
Thanks Pook & NBT - top ride with good company and great banter.
Good to put faces to a few names.
Just sorting out a few pics that I'll upload later after the wake for my trusty bar end.
Walnut cake was fab comps to the baker.
Just want to reiterate what's been said above, thanks for a great Pootle!!
And NBT, thanks for the help with the puncture and advice!! 😀
And for those that want the recipe:
Brownies
4 oz unsalted butter, cut into pieces
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped (100 g bar Tesco's 74% will do)
1 cup caster sugar (250 g)
Pinch of salt
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup plain flour, sifted
Another 1/2 bar of good quality chocolate chopped into smallish lumps (optional)
Directions:
Preheat an oven to 350°F (180 °C). Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking dish, preferably glass.
In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter and unsweetened chocolate. Heat, stirring often, until melted, about 4 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and salt. Add the eggs and vanilla and stir until well blended. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir until just blended. Stir in the chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out almost completely clean, about 30 minutes (longer if using a metal pan). Do not overbake. Transfer the pan to a wire rack and let cool completely. Cut into 2 1/2-inch squares.
Makes 9 large brownies.
Thanks Pook and NBT.
And thanks Hells for the brownies!
My mate loved it, despite now needing a new mech hanger and new pedals having literally smashed one in half somehow!
ohh those brownies were really nice.. I'll be trying that!
Good riding today even though we had a ginger southerner making the place look untidy (waves at Sheldon!!)
nice to see everyone, I now have a wicked dose (case?) of Hayfever..
I intend to cure this with a hot curry!!
till the next time

Hells - have just finished the chocolate brownie you gave me, it really is the nicest I've had for ages 🙂
Weather fairy was really kind to us today, it looks like most of the country was under rain clouds and wet again!
Thanks Pook and NBT, 😆 as above what a great ride I have never done anything like that before, and thanks for all the words of wisdom as I pootled along as fast as my legs would go, I loved it 😆
Great ride, great company, even great weather. 🙂
And cake. Lots of cake.
Still smiling!..........
Great day, great people. The look on some peoples face as we KEPT comming past. One bloke thought we were a race.

Some taken at the pub too.
Yep, that was a grand day out as usual. Thanks as ever to Pook and nbt for route-deciding and cat-herding duties carried out faultlessly, and thanks to everyone else for being ace fun to ride with. Sorry I couldn't hang around for a pint, had to get home to entertain a small person for a bit. Cheers!
For the record I can now confirm, having lent him my pump, that Hora is in fact actually a real person...
(Tom, on the black and green Cotic.)
Oh Jog on Martyn you Northern pigeon fancying flat cap wearing git.
Thanks to Pook, NBT and everyone else, just going through the video now maybe it'll be up later 😉
Definately a very pleasant surprise this whole pootle lark! Even though I was initially a bit nervous at the concept of riding in such a humungazoid group, I thoroughly enjoyed it and how fantastic was the weather?! Big thumbs up to Pook for organising and leading it - top banana 🙂 (edited to add: and Jules too!!)
Do you know, I may even have got a touch of sunburn!
First time that's happened this "summer".
Do you know, I may even have got a touch of sunburn!
Me too! Strange.
Is it normal to try and get off the couch to go to the loo and nearly fall over? Am I That unfit?? My legs are not working normally!
Still smiling...... 🙂
All gotta be good!!
Enjoy 🙂
Solarpowered. Should always finished tired, if a short ride climb harder!
Fantastic vid Tollah

Fantastic vid Tollah
Indeed, smashing stuff! I like it where he blasts past me like I'm doing a trackstand. Twice. I thought I was going quite well on those bits too. 😯

+1 great video.
😳 sorry
Not at all, I managed to get onto your wheel on the last hill, it was highly entertaining and educational. I really need to brake less. 🙂
rocketdog - we had 37 very well behaved riders. Walkers were great all day too - top day out.
Great video. I shall be dining out all week on the fact it took SEVERAL SECONDS to get past me at 6:00 🙂
Rachel
Lovely day. Was there a disagreement at the top of Cavedale involving the big puddles? I said nowt but it was a wee handbag moment between two riders 😆 (not me)
Onzadog and I (who ride together a lot) were playing silly buggers and splashing about like loons... That might have been us! Cracking ride btw... Forks are gonna cost a bit to be repaired.. Oh well.. I'll link my poor efforts at video making ASAP.
*shakes head sadly*
first thing on the video by the southerner is him riding the singletrack and avoiding the rocks
ach, for shame!
