Mr bunnyhop is Slowrider*

Crikey that's a lot of fat middle-aged IT consultants on one ride! 😛
Would love to come but I'll be working. Enjoy.
Well that's just silly.

Edale up to Hollins Cross, over to Mam Nick and Rushup Edge, down to Perryfoot and up Eldon Hill towards Dirtlow Rake. Down Pindale and over to Hope, up Hope Brink to Hope Cross and then down Jaggers Clough, back to Edale.
Well the route I suggested was up Chapel Gate to avoid the bogfest that is Rushup Edge, but I can see why you'd choose to go up to Hollins Cross.
I would've liked to come but I'm working so , have a good un........
🙄 😮
Looks like it's going to be a big batch of brownies being made tonight!! 😕 😀
I've got to be up and back super early tomorrow for DIY duty but I'm riding Kinder Circuit in the morning- just incase I bump into you!
I am bringing my + 1 as well
Is there a jib out point as I have been ill all week and off work and have not ridden for a week so I am uncertain of my health/fitness .
Given the huge turnout I will still be there [ or I would jib out]as I would like to meet a few of those for the first time.

There are a few options, yes, will try to remember to bring a map so I can show people if need be
Will bring my GPS as well.
Not sure how I will be tbh as I am still not 100% but only pedalling uphill will tell and I am nursing ill children today so no chance to test myself.
Cheers NBT
3 or 4 escape routes.
I'll stick my old map in too.

I miss the days when Hora used to make an effort with his excuses; 'I cant come because I need too buy some mint sauce for my lamb' was a good one, 'I'm in Scotland' when he was late for a ride he organised was a particular highlight too...
That was a funny one 'hora where are you'? erm I'm in the centre of Edinburgh 😆
It just doesn't feel right unless you get some ridiculous convoluted yarn about warped disc rotors, and the replacement being specially flown in from Hong Kong, as there are only 2 left in the world, but the delivery hadn't made it due to a terrorist attack in Paris

I've been on four of these things so far and I've still not actually met the legendary Hora. The nearest I got was a glimpse of a shadowy figure in the next carpark at the start of the ride from Fairholmes in February.
I'm starting to think that he's really just an elaborate hoax composed of a chat bot, an eBay sniping script, and some old cardboard boxes held together with gaffer tape.
he looks like a cardboard box held together with gaffa tape
he looks lie a sex pest hiding in a carboard box held together with gaffa tape
he looks like a sex pest with the clap hiding in a cardboard box held together with gaffa tape

solarpowered - MemberBunny hop - can I buy a pink polka dot peg bag plse? Don't want to hijack the thread but cant figure out how to get one any other way . You have a website?
You certainly can. I have only one left, shall I bring it with me on Saturday?
I have a blog thingy which people usually purchase stuff off, from here: http://emmyjane-design.blogspot.co.uk/
Sorry for hijack folks - as you were.
Date*, walnut and apple cake will be hitting the oven later this afternoon.
That's date* as in the fruit - not 2 people being fixed up on a STW ride, assumptions I know 😉
Really getting fed up of working sat's - perhaps they won't ring, maybe I won't be needed and can make it
Bollocks there goes another flying pig ah well
G
Me and my mate are coming too now!
I can't get there in time for the start but I might try to find you en route - shouldn't be difficult finding that many bikers! I'll def be at the August photo pootle too.
It'd be wrong if I just went to the pub at the end in my biking gear with a few fake mud splashes on my face,... right?
Yes please bunny hop! Ace!
Poor everyone that can't make it tomorrow 😥 There will be more in future I'm sure!! These Pook pootles are obviously very popular!!
I might come along if that's OK, first time n all that.
I only live in Leeds, I would have come but it's my BF's birthday today and we're out for shenanigans tonight so I doubt we'll be up that early! I'd be interested in more Peaks rides as it's only an hour away for us though.
I've only missed two; the snowy Hayfield one and the Cutgate/last one. I'm always the one in the British Army Camo jacket.I've been on four of these things so far
The last time a Pootle went down Pindale I'd waited for Muff to sort a puncture out- we rode down dead-last to see a wave of pootler's stood by the sode of Pindale all the way down changing flats 😯
So folks- bring spare tubes!
littlemisspanda Pook etc ride just about every weekend in the Peaks so I don't see a prob in tagging along.
Pook I'll be out again soon but I've got a house to be sorted (ontop of a very difficult office relocation over the past two weeks). Hence why I've been quiet this week.
I can't make it now, I'm afraid 🙁 Not been on a pootle for ages either
If you'll add a choice of two descents I'll come. Pindale or Cavedale and meet at the bottom.
DEFINITELY this time though as last time no one else would on the day and I'm not a fan of Pindale..
I believe we suggest an 'option' further up there ^^^ somewhere....
Ah yes, your bike accidently leapt over the wall 😉The last time a Pootle went down Pindale I'd waited for Muff to sort a puncture out- we rode down dead-last to see a wave of pootler's stood by the sode of Pindale all the way down changing flats
solarpowered - will do 🙂
My new toy just arrived, it's a grubby old GoPro. I'll bring it along for testing*.
*Read: filming people sat around eating cake.
It's been raining solidly since 11am, bring snorkels! 😯
if anyone wants to make the official video, feel free!
So no point removing the mud X if i can motivate myself to get up at 0630 in the morning?
Pook, I'll send you the good bits* of video post-pootle.
*Read: someone accidentally dropping their flapjack in a dog turd
Nah you're ok andeh, I'll let you edit them.
I believe we suggest an 'option' further up there ^^^ somewhere....
you mean this?
Contingency: if the ride is bobbins, we're dropping down Cavedale and up and over Mam Tor by a route that will be decided on the day.
That says to me its not a choice of two descents. Just if its raining? Which it wont.
I remember moaning about Pindale last time and having to pass Cavedale. Hmmm. Think I'll do an angryPodge 😉
That says to me its not a choice of two descents. Just if its raining? Which it wont.
No, the quote was
If the ride is bobbins
i.e. if it's taking to long, or if the weather is too bad, or if there's another reason. TBH if it's battering down, then Cavedale might not be the best option anyway - limestone is not great to ride in the wet.
Cavedale might not be the best option anyway - limestone is not great to ride in the wet
Cavedale itself isn't the problem, there will have been so much water down it that it'll just be like a river. The problem is the field above Cavedale which will be a sloppy boggy mess.
By the way, that route is the wrong way round - it's better going UP Jaggers and UP Pindale then and DOWN Mam Tor back to Edale.
I agree with crazy legs. Pindale is a climb not a descent. True though as well- Cavedale will be boggy.
Cavedale is always wet- theres a permanent stream flowing over it.
Only ever done Pindale as a climb once, it was rubbish. Then again I've only ever done Cavedale once, never got the fascination with it. the problem with the suggestion of going UP Jaggers etc is the rest of the route - it needs to be a route that's doable by a large group of poeple with disparate riding abilties in variable weather conditions
this is why routes are not generally opened up to voting.
Route democracy? Dear God!!! Can you imagine?
yeah how about you mass debaters run your own rides? you can plot any route you want then.
otherwise - SILENCE

Yes Sir!
S'OK anyway, I just realised I was looking at your route t'other way round. As you were...
😳

Shame we're not doing Mam Tor, I have a KOM I need to claw back 8)
we are doing mam tor
Is there room for a late addition? Just been told saturdays works being done sunday instead.
Also i'm wondering how physically demanding this route will be, as i'm hoping to take my daughter to the peaks at some stage so i'll make an effort to memorise the route if its not to difficult.
Come on Mark, DIY can wait. Its going to be pissing it down for the next week so you might as well do it then....you know you want to!! 😉
Pook - Member
we are doing mam tor
Hmmm 😕
the point of the route I suggested was that it avoided Mam Tor, or more specifically Rushup Edge. If we're not climbing chapel gate, then your original route is probalby better.
hey ho, I'll just follow
@Twang if it's that flat she'll probably batter me for taking her somewhere so boring. She'll be hoping for atleast mole hill or two
The top of Rushup edge was a complete bog fest last week, probably more so after a full day of rain. Almost unrideable and hard to push the bike and walk through.
The bog monster is lying in wait to pull your front wheel hub deep into the think black gloop -eeekkkkk.
Pretty please Pook, for the sake of my sanity let's go up Chapel gate.
mmmmmmmmmmm just to curse the weather I'm thinking about making my annual appearance up north 🙂

Depends on your definition of "curse". Given that it's been raining here most of the day...
😉
Brownies made & cooling!!

The weather always takes a turn for the worse when I head Op North to ride with the Pigeon fancier crowd 🙂
This explains why the "rain" on the way home looked suspiciously like snow
It's *july* ferchrissakes!
