You can be me if you like. Seeing as I won't be there. You can impress people with my gnar riding in absentia and keep up my reputation for being thoroughly disagreeable.

The stars/planets will have to align for me to get out for this... Need to sort a childminder and get home in time for a bit of black tie action in Manc later.

You can be slowrider if I can be pook. I've always fancied dishing out lectures on responsible access, making shonky edits and nipping off for a struggle cuddle with hora in the bushes. Oh the perks of being self appointed keeper of the peaks 8)

All the previous starting points have been near enough a station to ride to, can't imagine this one wouldn't be.

yeah near a station.

There are three descents in contention for inclusion. I exclude any one of them and the ride's about the right length.

They are all
a) very good
b) very popular with pootles
c) fun!

what to do....what to do???

All THREE! All THREE!! Yeah! that sounds good.... If you have to chose just one i would:
Get THREE people to toss THREE coins then get THREE other people to decide on which THREE routes to take. Then i'd chose the THIRD one!

.....yeah, that sounds about right...

oh and 4..

😯

Nice to see you are still doing the pootles, I came along once on a Kona cx bike and broke my front wheel, it was snowy.

I have another cx bike now, wheel isn't broken yet, so might come along, see if I can repeat it.

So, what is the route?

it starts then goes along, up, down, up up, down down down, along, up, down down down, ice cream, up up, along, down, pint.

Snowy pootle you say?

I'm choosing from the Hora route guide.

Route three is clockwise from the car to the toilets, bump a kerb, change gears on someone else's bike, get in car, drive home.

It'll be fun.

Huzzah! Who is that idiot on the road bike?

Nice, but I prefer the one that goes down, down, down, down, ice cream, down, pub, down, down, pie shop, down, down, pub.

Don't mind a down, along, down, along, down, pint, down, along, ice cream, pie shop, bike shop, pint either.

Just found out I won't have the car, so might only be able to come along if near a station or a lift is available from Holmfirth.

I'm trying to plan a 'robust' route so we don't chew everything up too much.

Maybe not along Rushup edge - t'was proper 'peat bog monster' grabbing front wheel along the top. However the rocky sucken road was fantastic, even when covered in red socks.

Still here, a little bit moist in parts, suggest fitting cleats to wellies if this keeps up!

Yep, likes jukes says, the people at the back are the people who these rides are for. I've been at the back of a ride before and made to feel like scum. I hated it.
I set up these rides to make people feel good about riding, to allow them to enjoy the views, the banter, the descents, and the biking regardless of fitness or skill. If they get better through the poodles, great!

Nobody on a pootle will ever

1) feel unwelcome
2) be left behind
3) not be allowed to buy a pint. ;o)

Looking forward to welcoming lots of new folks along!
