Any opinions on this?
Worthwhile international qualification or just an ace holiday?
Note, as a 29 year old who wants a change of career.
You could do a course in the UK and have a whole season in Whistler for the cost of that 3 week course!!
This is what I'm after. No idea of the cost involved in a season there.
No idea of the cost involved in a season there.
I spent just over £2k for 2 months I think, including all flights etc. Didn't stay in the staff accomodation which would've been about $100 a month cheaper. Expensive but worth it, I miss Whistler 🙁
We are providing the accommodation for Peak Leaders on this course so obviously a great package 😉
Anyway, the real benefit of this course is that assuming you pass the riding component and an interview with the 2 bike park coaching supervisors, you WILL get a job working on the bike park as a guide for the summer (assuming valid work visa)
Whistler Blackcomb will NOT be hiring new staff from any other sources until the staff undertaking this course have been hired.
BBB may also snatch up a few staff from this course too if their motivations fit with what we are looking for in a guide.
Guaranteed job as a bike park guide essentially. If you are serious about being a guide, the its a no brainer imo.
You could easily do a full season and ride every day on the 4k they want, inc flights.
I know, i have.
