You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Anyone know of any [good] mapped out rides in the Peak District that are around 160km long? I've seen the 225km one on https://www.selfsupporteduk.net/peakitt but TBH it looks a bit much for now. I'd like to find something a bit shorter.
the two options I currently have under consideration are:
A clover leaf from Ladybower:
Over Snake Pass, down Doctor's Gate, Longenden, back down Cut Gate
A loop over Castleton, Pindale, Mam Tor, Rushup, Jaggers, Beast etc
Then another loop taking in Stanage, Burbage, Lady Cannings,Frogat etc
I reckon that would be tweakable to anything betwee 150km to 180 as needed.
Or I'd love to create a route which included some of the Roaches stuff, Cut Gate and various bits in between.
That would be really cool, but logistics would be trickier. The Clowerleaf has the obvious advantage that I could stash lights, drink and endless food in the van at Ladybower as needed between the 3 loops.
I appreciate that some people can happily survive off gels and water for huge distances, but not me. My rides are generally one extended picnic, and so I need to ensure supplies of lovely edible food for the full duration.
suggestions?
Inspiration?
I'd think about extending down into the White Peak and making it a mega-tour of the entire area. You could pray that it doesn't rain for the White Peak stuff 🙂
You could try the south peak loop? Mostly signed set route.
Feel free to look through some of my rides from last year there’s a few big uns you might get some Ideas from.
