I have a work trip to Sheffield for Wed 16th. Thinking about a couple of days in the Peaks afterwards, but don't know the area at all. Will be with the missus looking to do some touristy things, but would also like some straightforward riding routes (ideally follow your nose, rather than having the map out every five mins). Any suggestions on the best place to stay and routes? 😀

There is few if any way marked routes, if you don't want to get the map out you'll have to get studying now

Not a bed time read, but packed with good routes, of varying lengths, back it up with ordnance survey sheet OL1 and you are good to go.

i was going to sugest same as nobeerinthefridge, cut is awesome, just as long as its dry, failing the weather, park at ladybower/derwent/fairholmes and do this route if you have time ( http://www.theedgecycleworks.com/mtbroutes/ladybower-loop-medium/), some big techy and fun hills up and down. fairly easy to nav aswell. OR map your self a route out around the area.
