The PDNPA cycle strategy consultation ends this Friday, that's the 21 March and there is an online questionnaire to allow you to provide your feedback and opinions.
The PDNPA the plan remains woefully short on detail regarding mountain biking.It remains almost an entirely leisure cycling plan and seems to be based upon limited research, some of which is over a decade old.
It may be useful for everyone to provide feedback through the survey, we can do lots of things outside this framework but as this is one provided by the PDNPA specifically for that feedback, let's let them know our feelings.

well I replied to their survey. It seemed to me that the strategy was full of fine words, but that the plan was almost completely unfunded and didn't really include mountain biking (am I wrong?). Also, all of the biggest projects are kicked down the road into "the long term". Overall the plan dosen't really seem credible and it seems unlikely to make much difference.
In this context all feedback is good feedback.

so you have to read 27* different documents to try and find the text in question.
it almost seems designed to disenmotivate any responses.
(*ok, 13, but it's still a lot)
it isn't a very well done survey with all those repetitive and imprecise questions, but then the strategy document, plan and associated maps are pretty quick to look at. I just looked at them, came to a view and wrote a few comments in some of the boxes and cross referred to those from the other boxes. Only took a few minutes.
It would take a long time to really get into any details about particular routes, but I dont think thats what they want or are ready for
It looks like one of the proposals is the (further) sanitisation of Cut Gate...

Page 9 of the actions, - linking Langsett with Upper Derwent - the long term actions map has it on.
It implies that there currently is no link between Upper Derwent and Langsett, when there is a Bridleway right across the route they are describing - the upshot being that they want to some how make this more "accessible" read - flatter and easier (although it's always going to be a ruddy great hill!)
