You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Briefly put - I ordered something From the US and happily paid the import fees.
Item broke, had to return it, then new one sent out (you can see where this is going!!)
So, another set of import fees imposed/collected by ups....
Where do I go from here? Ups? Her majesty......

Yes yes, wrong forum......
The replacement should have been marked as "warranty" and then there would be no import tax due (has worked for me). Go back to HMRC and see if they have a procedure for correcting this?

Hi GW - * waves *
HMRC, but I think its a complicated process as you have to claim back the originals (which you sent back) duty, not the replacements? Which then means finding the paperwork for the original duty.

I see.... I'm unlikely to have kept he original paperwork...
Bum.

didnt you scan it and add to files ?
*ducks and hides :D*
surely you have bank statements that proves you bought from the company. that combined with the company vouching that it was a warrenty may suffice ?
