Does anyone know how late the parking at Swinley is open? I know it is connected to the Go-Ape/Outdoor Activities center there and am afraid I'll show up to a chained entrance.

Alternatively is there anywhere to park nearby with reasonable access?

Literally the first result if you Google "Swinley parking":

(6pm now it's "winter")

If it is locked (8pm iirc) carry on past the entrance(on the left) to the next roundabout, turn left and left again (A3095) into the burgervan car park. This is the crowthorne side. Enjoy

D'oh. Ok, I was looking through the Swinley Bike Hub website. Thankyou.

Has anyone tried any alternatives?

IME I've never been locked in before the days of the pay and display. Now I either park in the estate opposite, or in the car park on devils highway by the substation.

You can't get in after closing time but you can get out any time.

After closing time - by Muzzie's kebab van as suggested, or you can use the one on the Maultway

http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=490195&y=161769&z=120&sv=490195,161769&st=4&ar=y&mapp=map.srf&searchp=ids.srf&dn=579&ax=490195&ay=161769&lm=0

and then head north up the side of the Old Dean estate, and the radio mast, which will lead you either to the top of the clubhouse or Surrey Hill reservoir.

we park in the coral reef park park opposite, which is also pay and display... or alternatively we park near St Annes Church in bagshot, which is free.

Just park in crowthorne and ride in would be my advice. plenty of parking behind the dive center or in the village, and its only a few minute warm up ride off road to pick up the trail at Red 8. Even better, you can get a pint or fish and chips after!

+1 for behind the dive centre by the sub station. Limited space but it's free and you won't get locked in.
