I have a meeting nr monument travelling down from up north, I'm wondering if I can travel down by car, Park outside of London and have an easy bike ride in? This may be a rubbish idea but does anyone else do it?
Park for free at Harry Potter studios, and follow the grand Union canal into the city. C55k....

You should be able to find fee parking in zone 3. As for route just follow a main road S cycling in London is better than most other uk cities and towns big or small that I've ridden in.
I do it (from the south) quite regularly. Works well. Park somewhere around Dorking or Leatherhead and ride in. It is my office though, so I've got showers etc. I'd be less keen for a meeting, if you drive in to a distance where you'll arrive looking presentable you may as well drive all the way!
Riding in from Enfield (J25 M25) would give you a 10ish mile cycle in. Go either Hertford Road or Green Lanes and then aim for A10 after The Roundway at Tottenham.
Very doable (I live in North London)
What sort of ride do you want?
Many options - flat, hill (not hilly!), canal path, off road ish, scenic, main road, mainly cycle path etc
Or park up and get the tube in. Harry potter studio checked out tickets before we were allowed to park about three months ago.
park somewhere in Thames Ditton (i live here and lots of roads with no restrictions) - 15 miles ride in.

They checked ours at the weekend.
