V2.0 is getting chilly in the seat on the back of the bike. This is despite being layered up well and with thick mittens and boots.
My thoughts are in two directions but I wanted to know if anyone else has dealt with the problem.
Idea 1: fit a screen behind my saddle that provides wind deflection for him. I can include flaps to shield his legs too.
Idea 2: find a big waterproof papoose to put over him similar to the scooter aprons for commuters.
Any links or pointed appreciated.
I had one on the front of my old bike that was pretty effective (I used to huddle behind it if it was really pissing it down) - but I don't think it would block much more air than having someone sat in front of the kid (as you have in your situation).
For when it got really wet I used something similar to sl2000's link (might have been exactly the same. Now I have them in a cargo bike with a fully waterproof cover which is much more comfortable all round (link is for the cover only but you can see the bike a bit as well)

Look up Bundle Bean. We got one for the sling, used it on the pram as well, and now it's on the Hamax on the back of the bikes.
wind proof outer, (keeps the rain off for a bit too) fleece lined, poppers and velcro straps to keep it on and cozy round different sized bubbas in different things.

+1 for the Hamax poncho. Use over warm clothes and coats etc. in winter, and also good for wet but warm conditions as it's only a single layer. Has a hood too which will fit over a helmet.
An idea would be to make sure the child seat itself if well insulted so he's not in contact with too much of the plastic. You could glue some thin carrymat in place with contact adhesive.
Other idea would be to avoid taking him on the bike when it's really cold. Appreciate that might not be doable if it's for nursery run etc. Our first got put through all sorts, the next 2 not so much as we adapt what we do to suit conditions / seasons.
@nedrapier Thanks! That’s the product I’d seen but couldn’t recall.
I’ve also found a few more options.
