If I arrange Paisley to collect a bike that the seller won’t post and provide a box through them do they wait while the seller boxes it up or do they deliver the box and come back another day?
Why the seller can’t pop down to Halfords and get a box I don’t know.
I just used them. They delivered the box and then came back the following day to pick up the collection. The delivery of the box was done by APC but I don't know who the pick up was done by so even if they drop of the box and collect on the same day (which is an optional service) I don't think it would be with the same courier as they just use the larger couriers from my understanding. Was a pretty painless process though.
Aye, it's only ever APC here.
How much more was the box?
Havent bought the bike yet so don’t want to be filling out the delivery form.
Box was £17 - our LBS even charge £13 for the boxes now so I didn't consider it bad value as it was delivered to home so saved me hastle! Still cheaper than RM options.
Oooh. If the seller is unable to get a box, Halfrauds or any LBS, what is your level of confidence that they will have the ability to remove pedals/remove front wheel/turn handlebars*
*Select depending on size of box.
It is a concern, I must admit.
I thnk you are confusing not able to get a box with can't be bothered to box a bike up.
We have all done it, think it will be a 15 minute job but usually takes around 30 mins plus without the 400 metres of tape, raiding the cupboards for packing material and getting the tools out to remove rear mechs, pedals etc.
So I can kind of see why they can't be bothered.
True but each week it's on ebay getting cheaper each time . I'd have thought he would have bit my are off at the chance of a sale.
Does anyone on here commute between surrey and bury St Edmund?
