I'd like to record heart rate, cadence speed, and route in a single file.
I've got a Garmin watch (takes care of heart rate, and route.
I've got a Lexyne GPS unit on the bars (takes care of cadence via feed from a little wahoo thing on my shoe, and route again)
Can I link these together somehow, or is there a smartphone app that I can use to achieve what I want?
Presumably the watch uses an optical sensor? This article suggests maybe you can:
Depends on the Garmin and the Lezyne I think. You could set your Garmin to transmit heart rate over ANT+, and pick this up using the Lezyne GPS. Compatibility matrix here:
I use this setup with my Garmin Fenix 6 on my wrist, transmitting heart rate to the Garmin Edge on my bars. It's via ANT+, so not Garmin specific
ah OK, thank you. I'll have a bit more of a play. Furloughed, so I have time to burn. Just because it's not obvious doesn't mean it's not possible eh?
As above , ANT+ broadcast heart rate on the Garmin
The lezyne should pair with the watch , mine does
Strava is one way of pulling all the data together in one place , just link the accounts in the lezyne gps ally app.
Is the little wahoo thing ant+? If so, connect it to watch and you don't need the Lezyne as watch does it all.
Just paired my Garmin Instinct with my Lezyne so that I can get the HR from the Garmin.
Fairly straightforward to do.
thanks for the tips! The lezyne wouldn't pair with the Garmin (lexyne is more basic model, so Bluetooth only, no ANT+)
However, the wahoo cadence sensor has paired with the Garmin watch, so mission accomplished, without buying any other gadgets. 😊
