Hi Folks, off for a week riding in Torbole and surrounding trails of Lake Garda. We will take a day off the steep techy stuff for a day at Paganella.

We are all enduro type riders, any views on the best trails, routes? Should we drive to Andalo to start?

Any must visit mountain restaurants?

Thanks

Alan

I was there in June, started in Molveno (Parking was a nightmare) met some guys on the lift who were doing the bear trails which were great, but with long climbs to access and it was very hot.

Rode to the lift Andalo to session Hussle and flow which was great, but I saw a couple of serious injuries and the air ambulance stopped play.

Drove back up to Fai and I was knackered, only did a couple of runs.

If you're in a van or camping you can stay at the Fai lift for free and the restaurant is good

No help whatsoever, but I had my first ski trip there with my school back in 1980! What great memories. It snowed heavily on the drive up from Trento such that we had to put chains on the coach. Had a week of the most perfect snow and sun after that. Every time I have ever been skiing since has been a dissapointment.

I was there a few weeks ago. Bear trails as an enduro loop is ok, but there are some grinding climbs, especially the ones that takes you towards spormaggiore, so I'd leave that bit out. It's quite easy to hook up the natural "shared use" trails out there for a big enduro loop. Download the Mowi app, it's very good and you can choose the "ultra trails" that will give 4-5 loops.

Start off in Molveno, stick a little loop in round there on the "par trails", back up and then start the bigger loop that takes you back towards Andalo. Finish back in Molveno as there are a couple of really good routes back down (it's much lower than Andalo)

Just to add, there is a trailforks GPS download for "bear trails, more park".

It's honestly one of the best parks in the western alps, imo.

Go there a fair bit as its "only" 3 hour drive.

Nice mix of flow trails, tech and jumpy stuff. Some off piste, too.

Wonka, Hustle, Peter Pan and the two trails in Molveno are flowy.

805 secret trail is a good link to Molveno.

The Bear is a good day out, but you might not want to slog up hill when the lifts are there.

As an option, I much preferred Livigno and when I was there the Carosello side wasn't open, mainly blue trails that side but it's an option.

It's a couple of hours from Paganella but very cheap as it's all tax free.

VDS is 45 mins from Paganella too if you're feeling brave.
