Will it work, or will I die a horrible death as the tyre explodes off the rim? Would be running 25 - 28mm at around 90psi. Can't find any info on max pressures.

Been doing just that for 18 months. Either 25mm Michelin Pro 4 SC's at 100psi or Challenge Strada Bianca's in 30mm at 80psi. Emailed the Pacenti importers about max pressures and the reply was , ask your tyre supplier about their pressure as the rims are not a worry.
Lighter than the SL's but probably not as aero. Build up nicely I am told. Only done about 4000 miles on mine so can't comment on life.

What build do you have and any idea of weight? I was looking at the superstar ones on sale at the mo and was quoted 1840g, which seems a touch high given the rims are 430g each and the switch hubs are 470 for both.

May consider building them up myself as by my calculations a pair of novotecs with dt race spokes would be around 300 g lighter.

Having said that, aren't SS hubs just rebadged novatecs, in which case they are using some very heavy spokes..

No idea on weight? Mine are on old Hope xc hubs. 32 DT spokes. Proper Campag Qr's. Only snag is that they are black.
