Hi all

I'm looking at getting a set of these (420mm axle to crown) for my monstercross bike as my Kinesis DC19's don't have the tyre clearance.

I know the 29 x 1.95 tyre will fit side to side in the Pace forks but am unsure how much clearance there would be under the crown.

What I need to know what is the axle to the underside of the crown measurement? I need 390mm minimum to get a 29 x 1.95 in

I would prefer to use this length but if someone could give me the same dimension for 440mm forks

Thanks for any assistance

Ken

Just back from the garage with a tape measure....

On my 440s, the crown "assembly" is 30mm deep. I'm assuming it's the same on the 420s.

440-30 = 410
420-30 = 390

So, you might just make it but there would be no mud clearance.

Thanks Druid

390mm is allowing for 15mm mud clearance as the tyre is 375mm diameter so hopefully ok.

I think I'll call Pace on Monday to make sure

That's OK. Always nice to help someone out without having to call into question their reasoning 😉
