Anyone got one and would like to comment on their abilities and ride quality? Also, would like to see some pics, especially of the large size, as it looks a bit of a gate from the limited pics I've seen, with a high top tube/post junction. Cheers.

Some people don't seem to find the warranty support the best

I asked the same question a while ago as was quite taken by the new rc-129. As poster above said, seems to be a wide perception that warranty support and customer service generally leaves a lot to be desired. Must admit, I’ve had a couple of email queries with them myself and they’ve not been very helpful or keen to sell me something.

Hi,

I swore never to buy a pace product ever again after warranty issues years ago and similar treatment to a colleague.

Maybe things have changed now.

Wow, I hope someone from Pace reads this thread. I've presumed they have a great brand profile with their homegrown heritage and engineering knowledge. You'd think a frame from them would be the most sorted frame for UK trail riding, quality and attention to detail-wise.

It may well be. Unfortunately they’ve gained a reputation for abysmal warranty support. I’ve not seen anything recently to dispel that. Be good if they do have that side of the business sorted as their bikes look great.

Poops. Had my PACE for over ten years now, all trouble free. Done perhaps 10,000 miles on it. Should I be worried

well if they do read this thread and pay attention, it'll be a first, as pace's 303 from back in 2006 seemed to kick it all off here.

Hey guys! Sophie here from Pace.
We are a small family business and pride ourselves on good customer service. Any customer service enquiries and warranty support will now go through to aimee@pacecycles.com. Apologies if any of you have had a bad customer service experience in the past. Moving forward we hope we can turn your opinion around and we have taken all above comments on board. All of the geometries for our frames can be found on the Pace website under each model category but please drop me an email (sophie@pacecycles.com) if there is not any answers to your question on there.
Cheers! 🙂
Sophie Carter

I've recently bought an RC127 and Adrian at Pace was very helpful. Phoned at the weekend and he was very happy to advise on sizing, stem length and even choosing colour/decals.

Just waiting for a stem to drop through the postbox and will start building.

I'm 5'7 and bought a medium. Will fit a 35mm stem and 780 bars.

Very impressed with the frame finish. Paint looks very thick, lovely shade of blue!

Will be built up with XT (including wheels), stealth Reverb and Hope for everything else (even splashed out on the Hope carbon bar)

Pics and comments on the ride will follow once built...

I looked closely at a 129 a few years ago, the attention to detail was impressive.
A very nicely finished frame.

I'm intrigued by the vague suggestions that PACE is rubbish with warranty support. Only one is first hand, and even that is vague.

So, tell us more detail, preferably first hand.

My mate had some quite early RC *something* forks & the dropouts came loose (this was when they were at Gt Edstone) He called at the factory with the bike to see what they could/would do & they fixed them there & then, while he waited!
I've only had various forks & clothing but never had any issues.
Nice to hear from Sophie ^^^ up there taking notice & hopefully taking the negative comments on board.

Pace started out similarly to Hope & look at the reputation/following theyv'e got.

Let us not forget the awesomist rigid forks in all the land were and still are pace.

As for their product failings, I’m fairly certain that a small brand such as Pace like any big brand will have failures at some point.
It is a mtb product after all and I have no doubt they helped out folk with Dt swiss servicing also.

Well done Pace for innovative design and keeping it going to some extent so yeah thumbs up for that! 😀

I own a RC127. Really like it. No problems and received good service/after service when asking questions about stealth routing etc.
Would recommend it. Does all I ask of it and more, happy on an all day ride, off track enduro runs and have even taken it on an uplift day or two.
Gets more nice comments than my full suspension bike, even if it is all black. Simple is best.
Large RC127, black with matte black decals.

Anything else give me a shout.

Probably because we've said it all before, and its a bit old.
Loved my 303, but it cracked and I was treated like I was trying to defraud the carters personally when I made a warranty claim. I was just starting legal against them when everyone else's 303 started cracking (that's not true- just the med and larges.)
they then relented and it seemed I wasn't a liar.

Before that I had some fairly off hand experiences try to get some forks sorted under warranty, remember the fork seal issues where the forks would stick down forming a vacuum?

They seemed to go off a cliff around the time Duncan 'left' and had a few years of terrible service. I tried and tried to get them to a) answer the phone and b) be of any use when they did when my old DT forks needed a warranty job a few years back. Useless didn't even cover it and they lost my business as a result.

Sounds like they may be trying a bit harder now, which is nice.

I've got one of the original morris minor blue 104's and its ace, I lost a bolt out of the slidey dropouts a few years ago while I was on holiday in Scotland and they sent me a new one for the next day. Done 1000s miles on it no issues. Never did run it singlespeed though 🙂
