I have a Kona P2 in 29er flavour, what is the largest tyre it'll accept?

Assuming it won't be 29*3", what reasonably priced fork for a plus sized frontage?

Ta.

P2 triple butted is pretty full with a 2.3 purgatory. Might take a 2.5 tops imo.

Thought as much. When it was last in use it had a 2.25 with plenty, but not bags of room IIRC.

Any recommendations for a none too expensive 29+ fork anyone?

2.3 purg is a pretty nobbly tire. Had plenty room with a 2.4 racing Ralph but a 2.3 purg was tight

Salsa Cromoto takes 3 inches, Surly Krampus and KM forks too. Just check the A2C.

But better go for Salsa, its much nicer.

Ditto...

Had them both, Cromoto and Krampus. Cromoto is much more supple than Krampus.

And yes, it clears 3" OK

These are pretty darned good, and much lighter than a steel fork.

Just looked at the Salsa's- 3kg, is that right?!

Like the look of those Chinese ones, shame the £ is so weak now.

Edit: eXotic fine with plus tyres then?

Where did you find such weight? It is listed on Salsa website with 1080g.

It never bothered me, so never tried to verify it.

Might be CF forks is lighter, but I prefer how the steel feels 🙂

Cheers!

CtBM site for the 3kg weight. I thought it seemed a bit weighty! Must be a 5mm wall!

Thanks for the input though everyone, much appreciated.

Singular swift fork takes a 3 inch tyre, is more comfortable than a Salsa, and handles better with the 55mm offset.

Good call on the swift fork. Not a bad price either.

I now have Chronicle sitting on a 40mm (internal rim).

I've two rigid forks sitting in the garage, my Project 2 and On One Chromo fork.

The On One is 30mm shorter than the Project 2 and has less trail.

The Chronicle fits in both, a good 6-7mm clearance either side in the On Ones. Only about 3mm per side with the Konas.

On One Chromo-

Kona P2-

I fear it's a little too tight on the P2s.
