That's what I thought. Glad I don't need any more forks

Are they though?

I've got x fusion on my bike and they haven't worked well for years. Assumed they were just too old. Had them serviced. Still bobbins

Then noticed that the kid's x fusion on his trek barely move at all.

250 quid seems like a reasonable option for some new forks, but would I be chucking good money after bad.....

Even at second hand prices Pikes etc are getting pricey. Would be great to have a genuinely "pretty good" budget brand as an option.

I know next to nothing about X Fusion forks though. Had one of their shocks many years ago and that was junk frankly. A long time ago though so not an indication of the brand now.

I regret Changing my metric for the top fox 36, for no other reafon than just because. I think the metric was the better  fork. Can't comment on other models though.

Have a slant and it would be fine (as in it’s a good fork in my opinion) if I could get a replacement bit for it. Problem is the agents for xfusion in the uk are pathetic obstructionist pains do repairs are frustrating.

Strange you st that as that reminded me of trying to sort the x fusion shock out all those years back and basically finding there was no real support worth mentioning.

The generalist - I have the roughcut damper fork as listed on my bird Aeris and prefer it to pikes I’ve had / tried in the past. Think it’s great. Parts are tricky though, so agree with that comment.

I’ve got a Slant 120mm on one of my bikes and it’s a good fork. Not as supple as some but it’s done hundreds of hours without getting sloppy and works well enough. I did a lowers service the other day but when I came to reassemble found out that I needed a special tool to pull a bolts through the lowers. It’s only a piece of internally threaded rod but nowhere in the uk sold it. Rang Upgrade and was told I’d have to wait 90 days for them to back order it. Went online and ordered it from the USA for $5 and had it in six days. Bit unimpressed with Upgrade for that but feeling the love for the US right now! Fork feels great with new oil in it.

You don't need the magic tool to pull the lowers out. There's a thread on here somewhere about it.

In the end I decided to get one, I just asked Father Christmas and he sorted it. I think my son was involved somehow.
