Has anyone used these on a mountain bike with significantly down-sloping top tube? My first instinct was that the saddle angle can't adjust much and a saddle tilted back to my top tube angle would be miserable. But on reflection the little one isn't trying to pedal (which is actually the thing that makes back tilting saddles uncomfortable) so maybe it doesn't matter. Also mini sideshow loves riding in that position already with no saddle at all.

I'm well aware there are other options ranging from 4 to 7 times the price!

Has anyone used the oxford one on a mountain bike with sloping top tube and was the little one comfortable enough?

I have one of these which is similar:

I would say just get one! We dont use ours lots but the kids love them, more so than the Thule front seat we also have. No. 2 has just started using it (he has just turned 2) and No. 1 used it until she was about 4 and a half. Great fun!

Fitted to a Norco Fluid. A mate put his lad on a DH bike a couple of times too at about 3yo!!

Dolittle (at only 2.7x the price!) appears to have more seat tilt adjustment so experience here isn't quite relevant to the oxford one.

The Oxford little explorer comes with a rubber wedge to help level the seat out on sloped top tubes

It can just be seen in the photo on their website

That wedge did nothing on my genesis tarn, the angle was so severe I wouldn't even try LittleMissMomo on it. My feeling is that the Oxford seat is cheap for a reason, it's poorly developed and made of cheap materials.

Ended up buying a Macride instead (I know this doesn't help) which I'm very happy with.

The wedge worked perfectly on my hybrid which has a sloping top tube, depends on how sloped your top tube is i suppose

Not had any issues with mine, looked at the mac ride and felt it was over priced, not very neat looking and a bit of a faff to remove if/when needed

The little explorer was good value for the money, easy to fit and dosent look like some home made contraption that you have bolted on to your bike

The Dolittle looks like a good compromise between the two

Mrs sideshow's top tube slopes down at 30 degrees to the horizontal, does that match your hybrid?

My Hybrid is about 22-23 degrees, if your top tube is 30 degrees then the Dolittle looks like the best option
