I've been give an project to close out and it runs form Oxford to Bicester, as its a fair way from home I'll be staying down there a couple of nights per week. Whats the riding situation down there?

Are there any regular club / group night / evening rides that I could tag along with?

Looking about it seems it would be best to base myself in the Oxford area, any thoughts? Also doing that I could probably commute by bike to where our site offices will be set up.

Road riding is great in the area between Oxford and Bicester (Islip, Heyfords, Somerton, Tackley...) Some bridleways canal paths but probably more suitable for gravel/cx than MTB.

Plenty of clubs for road rides in Oxford (Condors to name one)

For mtb there are some bits around Oxford (Boars Hill, Shotover) but while is still dry is worth driving south (20-30 minutes) to The Chilterns. Plenty to choose there.

Dreaming Tyres - rides regularly off road round Oxford area.  Also ride in the Chilterns most weeks after work.  Email me if you want to join us for a ride.

Most weeks after we ride Boars Hill / Shotover / Chilterns / Stonesfield etc.
